WORKSHOP SERIES THEMES

  • SELF DEFENSE OR VIOLENCE (SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT)

 

To engage in dialogue and demonstrations of the characterization of violence as opposed to self- defense.  The focus is to supply support and tools to educate and empower them to make better choices in their lives utilizing alternatives just before exerting violence and violent behaviors. The outcome is set to examine the distinctiveness self-defense and violence behaviors.

 
  • PHENOMENAL WOMAN (SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT)

 

(Culture/History/Arts/Literature): Identify the role of women throughout history literally, metaphorically and in comparison to the current depiction of the female today.  The focus is to identify the role of women in culture, media, and community. Through these avenues identify the influence and power women naturally possess and ways to tap into it. The outcome set is to create “pacifiers” of conflicts instead of “igniters” of conflicts.  Analyzing the classification of love, worth, and power as it relates to their life and environment, that shapes their contribution to society.  

 
  • MEN OF DISTINCTION (SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT)

 

(Culture/History/Arts/Literature): To engage in dialogue and demonstrations of the characterization of “WHAT IS A MAN”. Discussion and excerpts from a “Man of Distinction” that examines absent fathers, roles of a young man and a journey into manhood.  The focus is to identify what manhood means today and provide support and tools to live like a respectable male in this society and make better choices in their lives.  In addition to identifying triggers of anger, fear, and other pressures a young man withstands. The outcome is set to clearly defining “manhood” and the role relating to the depiction of men and the male presence in society.

 
  • PREPPED & PRIMED (TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT)

 

To encourage and develop social and professional skills and tools to navigate in school, home, community, and the workforce. The objectives to enhance these skills lie within writing workshops, interviewing role-playing, grooming and speech development.

 
  • ACADEMIC, PROFESSIONAL & SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING

 

To provide participants with the skills and support to effectively advance in academia, careers, and society. The objectives to create or enhance capabilities lie within the preparation for the 21st Century global skill set of critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity, and culture (P4P standard). Through interactive assignments, role-playing and global comparison we increase dialogue and awareness of strong soft skills, personal and professional priorities, and more.
